Our Mission

The Los Santos Fire Department preserves life and property, promotes public safety and fosters economic growth through a commitment to prevention, preparedness, response and recovery as an all risk life safety response provider.


LSFD Vision

The Los Angeles Fire Department will provide exceptional Fire Protection and Emergency Medical Services by being metric driven, technologically sophisticated and community focused while reflecting the people we serve.

Task That you have to endure: 

  • Responding to emergency calls when summonsed; providing basic and advanced life support emergency medical services; assisting in the suppression of fires; preparing and maintaining detailed records; supervising personnel assigned to a station/company; providing assistance to the public.

  • Ensures understanding and compliance with state, County and departmental policies; recommends revisions and/or new policies and procedures; assists with budget preparation and management.

  • Enforces federal, state, local and departmental policies, rules and regulations.

  • Responds to fire and emergency calls; may take on the role of officer in emergencies including assuming command of an incident; determines the necessity of additional resources; administers emergency care; transports victims to emergency care facilities; maintains records and observes patient responses; identifies diagnostic signs which may require communications with medical facility for advice and direction; provides direct patient care as ordered; administers prescribed drugs, intravenous solutions and performs defibrillation as required.

  • Checks and prepares equipment and supplies for treatment; cleans, disinfects and maintains medical equipment.

  • Checks and reviews reports submitted by assigned personnel.

  • Participates in continuing training and instruction program by individual study of technical material and attendance at scheduled drills and classes.es as necessary.

       

       May be assigned to operations, administration, or other roles.
